How COTI Built a Multi-App Incentive Engine on its Privacy Network with Snag Stratus

COTI is a privacy layer for Web3, built on Garbled Circuits cryptography to bring confidential transactions to onchain applications. To drive real activity across their network and the apps built on it, COTI needed to reward complex onchain behavior, not just simple signups. They built that incentive engine on Snag.
The Challenge
COTI wanted to drive and reward genuine onchain activity across their whole ecosystem, in a way generic tools could not handle:
Reward not just whether a user acted, but the value of the action, staking or holding specific dollar amounts on a recurring cadence
Track activity across multiple apps in the COTI ecosystem, not just one
Combine onchain behavior like gas spend, staking, and deposits with social and referral activity in a single program
Run it inside their own front end, on their own brand, rather than a hosted third-party page
What They Built
COTI built their own front end, an Earn portal, and integrated Snag through its APIs, keeping the entire experience inside their own product. Through those APIs, COTI tracks referrals, top gas spenders, and social connections across Telegram, Discord, and YouTube, awarding Token Points for each.
The heart of the program runs on Snag Stratus, Snag’s onchain cloud. Rather than checking a simple yes-or-no (“did this wallet stake?”), Stratus lets COTI tie rewards to the dollar value of onchain behavior: staking $100 of COTI, holding USDC, or depositing into an ecosystem app, measured on a daily or weekly cadence. Stratus works by subscribing to smart contract events and running custom logic, with relayers handling secure, automated reward distribution onchain. That is what makes it possible to reward nuanced, value-weighted behavior instead of one-off actions.
Because the logic is programmable, COTI extended it across their ecosystem: missions span multiple apps including Carbon DeFi, PriveX, Accumulated Finance, and the COTI Treasury, driving activity across the whole network rather than a single app. Users accumulate Token Points across staking, holding, deposit, gas, social, and referral missions, earn an Elite Earner badge at higher thresholds, and redeem points for $COTI from a weekly pool of 1,000,000 COTI.
The Impact
COTI has now run four consecutive seasons of the program on Snag, most recently Season 4. That track record is its own signal: the incentive engine has become a durable part of how COTI drives and rewards activity across their network, not a one-time campaign. Because it is API-based and powered by Stratus, COTI can keep evolving the missions season over season without rebuilding the infrastructure underneath.
Why Snag
For a privacy network focused on core protocol and cryptography, building the infrastructure to track value-weighted onchain behavior across multiple apps, combine it with social and referral data, and distribute rewards securely would be a major undertaking.
