How WalletConnect Built a Home for Its Community, Ambassadors, and Token Holders on Snag

WalletConnect is the connectivity layer for Web3, powering secure connections between wallets and onchain apps, with a large community of token holders, ambassadors, and contributors around it. Their community team wanted a single home where all of that activity — Discord roles, social contributions, token holding, and governance — could be recognized, segmented, and rewarded. They built it on Snag.
The Challenge
WalletConnect’s community lead needed one white-label place that could bring together everything the community did and turn it into something they could see and reward. Specifically, they needed to:
Translate Discord roles into a persistent, branded home for members, token holders, and ambassadors
Qualify and segment different types of contributors, KOLs, ambassadors, and influencers, rather than treating everyone the same
Verify real contribution: token holders and stakers, top posters, and governance voters
Distribute token rewards to the right people on a recurring basis
What They Built
Snag gave WalletConnect a white-label community hub: a single branded home where members sign in and their Discord roles carry over. Members choose a contribution track that matches how they engage, and each track carries its own quests and role-gated rewards. WalletConnect runs tracks for onboarding scouts who recruit merchants, WalletConnect Pay users who transact in real life, governance members who stake and vote, content creators, and product research participants who join betas and surveys. Many quests are chained, unlocking only after a member completes a prerequisite and receives their reward, so status is earned rather than simply claimed.
Underneath, Snag’s User Intelligence qualifies and segments the community by real contribution. WalletConnect tracks holders and stakers of WCT, its token, including staking positions on Optimism, recognizes members who vote on governance proposals, and identifies its most active posters and creators. Those signals verify who belongs in which track and power badges and allowlists such as the Staker Allowlist and the Governance Member role, letting WalletConnect tell genuine contributors, KOLs, and ambassadors apart rather than treating the community as a flat list.
WalletConnect also uses Snag’s token distribution tooling to run recurring WCT rewards. Qualified members come to the hub and claim their tokens directly through Snag, closing the loop between contribution and reward.
The result is a single operating system for the community: organizing contributors into tracks, verifying social, onchain, and governance activity, and distributing WCT rewards to the members who earned them, all in one white-label hub.
The Impact
More than 180,000 participants have taken part in WalletConnect’s community program on Snag, engaging through social tasks, role-gated quests, token holding and staking, and governance, with the most valuable contributors surfaced and rewarded through weekly token distributions.
