Nexus Labs set out to build one of the most ambitious decentralized compute networks in Web3. When they began preparing for their Token Generation Event in mid-2025, they needed a loyalty engine that could convert genuine community participation into onchain activity at scale. They turned to Snag.
The Challenge
Nexus faced a set of challenges common to infrastructure networks going to market in a crowded cycle:
Off-the-shelf quest platforms could not support the custom onchain logic required to track node runner contributions and CLI compute activity alongside standard social questing.
Without a compelling community narrative, point programs risk attracting farmers rather than true believers - a critical liability heading into TGE.
Their go-to-market budget could not sustain a heavy KOL spend model. They needed organic, high-quality user-generated content to drive growth - not paid amplification.
They needed a white-label loyalty experience that reflected their brand and lore, not a generic third-party platform.
The Solution
Snag launched with Nexus in July 2025, deploying a white-label loyalty frontend with custom quest logic, soulbound token minting, and onchain tracking via Snag Stratus. The program was built around two strategic pillars that defined its success:
1. Brand-anchored soulbound assets tied to community values
Rather than issuing generic point receipts, Snag's team worked with Nexus to build lore and brand assets around their node runner campaign. As users earned points, they could mint soulbound tokens representing their contributions to the Nexus ecosystem - framed not as speculative instruments, but verifiable proof of participation. The result was a community that felt genuinely invested in the network before a single token launched.
2. Micro-creator UGC engine with point-bonus amplification
Instead of routing budget toward large KOL deals, Nexus and Snag empowered a core cohort of 100 to 1,000 engaged Discord members with Twitter presence. Using Snag's social questing infrastructure and point bonus logic for top-performing content, Nexus turned these micro-creators into a distributed content engine. Snag's rules engine rewarded high-quality UGC with point multipliers, creating a flywheel that drove organic reach - including posts that generated over 100,000 engagements. The Loyalty Engine tracked CLI and node network compute contributions alongside standard social quests, giving the Nexus team a full picture of who was building vs. who was farming.

The Results
Over the course of their program - running from July 2024 through their May 2025 TGE - Nexus built one of the most engaged pre-launch communities in the infrastructure sector, closing at a 400M+ FDV valuation at launch.

624,381 unique wallet accounts onboarded to the Nexus loyalty program
>5 million transactions in the first 3 months, including a single-day peak of 250,000 transactions
>10 million total compute contributions tracked across the CLI and node network
34% increase in gross engagement across social channels
400M+ FDV token launch at TGE in May 2025, underpinned by one of the most active onchain communities in the compute sector
Why It Worked
Most loyalty programs optimize for volume. Nexus optimized for identity. By anchoring their soulbound token minting to real brand values and lore, not just quest completion, they built a community that had a stake in the narrative, not just the token. Snag's rules engine made it possible to reward contributions that actually mattered: node uptime, compute output, and original content, rather than follow-and-retweet loops.
The micro-creator strategy also proved that high-quality UGC compounds differently than KOL spend. When 100 genuine community members each create authentic content and get rewarded for it, the result is a distribution network that scales with trust - exactly what infrastructure networks need heading into a public token launch.
